Why Fiber?

Quantum is the next step in Click1's evolution. Since 1999, we have provided internet access via fiber-to-the-node and coaxial (copper) cable from the node to the home where it powers your cable modem. Cable is an excellent product with 99.9% uptime and capable of speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second under the right circumstances. That being said, it has its limitations. For one, it is limited in upstream capability (usually to under 10Mbps).  Fiber to the Home is virtually limitless in capacity on both downstream and upstream. Additionally, fiber eliminates much of the gear required in the field to power a cable plant.
